I have a bone to pick with this fishy business.

Here's the tantalising lead up to the current anticlimax.

Still a bone of contention with MPs
Oct 6:THE issue of Approved Permits and Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz remained a hot topic at the Dewan Rakyat yesterday.

At the Dewan Rakyat yesterday: Nazri: Parliament Dept to be set up
Oct 7MALAYSIA will soon have a Parliament Department and a director-general to head it.

INTERVIEW WITH: Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz
Oct 6:For four months, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz (below) has been in the centre of the Approved Permits controversy. In a no-holds-barred interview with NURAINA SAMAD, she spoke of the trials and tribulations of those months.

The 6 questions
Oct 5:ORIGINAL QUESTION Datuk Dr Wan Hashim Wan Teh (BN-Gerik) What is the Government doing to prevent the Malaysian automotive industry from incurring losses due to the poorly regulated import of cars from abroad?

Rafidah to face MPs on Tuesday
IPOH, Oct 1:Tuesday will be D-Day for Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz.

‘It’s time to make a decision’
Oct 7Two days after International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz made her appearance in the Dewan Rakyat to answer deeply contentious issues concerning APs, the controversy still seems to be very much alive. Backbenchers Club chairman Datuk Shahrir Samad gives his take on the matter in this interview with KOH LAY CHIN.

MPs rapped for double standards
KUALA LUMPUR, Mon.An anti-graft crusader said a Ministry of International Trade and Industry official should not have been penalised for "accidentally" releasing the list of MPs who were granted APs.

THE SUNDAY COLUMN: Rafidah... and chutzpah
Oct 2:CHILDREN who grew up on Aesop’s Fables, stories by the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen, Sheherezade’s 1001 Nights and proverbs and old wives’ tales, learned lessons that have stayed with them.

THE RAFIDAH SHOW 6 questions in 45 minutes
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4:A combative, assertive and defiant Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz faced off her peers in the Dewan Rakyat today.

We used to have letters to the Editor; it's interesting to see times change with sms's to the Editor

AP ISSUE:MPs in the dock
KUALA LUMPUR, MonTwo Barisan Nasional backbenchers who broke ranks in supporting an Opposition motion are facing the prospect of disciplinary action.

I HOPE, that the last Rafidah Answer Session of this storm in a teacup was simply the Malaysian politics way of getting things done without too much loss of face--- I think the whole fracas signals that something needed to be done.

The media circus has been very entertaining... the stuff that tennis matches are made of.

But I'm not sure I'm looking forward to a game set and match outcome for any one party. Although at the moment it looks like the issue gone so far it's got itself into a cul de sac. No doubt it bodes ill for the sincerity of the anti-cronyism drive.

Drafting a comprehensive automotive policy to protect our fledgling national car projects should be the positive outcome....

  • siren: Hey thanks for the comment Joe :) It's nice to know someone has an opinion. in National Automotive Policy
  • JoeC: P2 is selling cheap cars, no problems there. P1 is not a cheap car manufacturer, at least that is not what ppl lead to believe, suppose to be on par or better than the koreans...after years of P1 abuse, not surprise on the reaction. Why must one pay for a rubbish product? it is money afterall. So, P1 gotta improve, perhaps the VW deal can be a key. Meanwhile, at P2, things are great, they are improving, yearly, the Myvi is one example, is not just the redesign but the build quality, can P1 learn form this? Hope that this NAP will be the start of a more competitive and agressive auto industry. Cheers! in National Automotive Policy
