What's Up?
Musings on Proton's New CEO

Apparently the new CEO didn't have anything much to say at the press conference announcing his appointment. Well, that's not exactly unusual, it may be too soon, but anyway.

He looks so young and willowy... he looks like someone the Chairman would install to boss around easily. Hmmm.

I hear the fat cats in the organisation have been having a gala time splashing in the cash reserves now that the old CEO is away.

Here's a funny remark though. Apparently during the presscon, someone asked if Proton's Advisor had been consulted about the appointment, and what his opinion might be.

Apparently the super smooth talking Chairman told them that yes, the advisor is aware. (But nothing more.)

This will be interesting to watch.

  • siren: Hey thanks for the comment Joe :) It's nice to know someone has an opinion. in National Automotive Policy
  • JoeC: P2 is selling cheap cars, no problems there. P1 is not a cheap car manufacturer, at least that is not what ppl lead to believe, suppose to be on par or better than the koreans...after years of P1 abuse, not surprise on the reaction. Why must one pay for a rubbish product? it is money afterall. So, P1 gotta improve, perhaps the VW deal can be a key. Meanwhile, at P2, things are great, they are improving, yearly, the Myvi is one example, is not just the redesign but the build quality, can P1 learn form this? Hope that this NAP will be the start of a more competitive and agressive auto industry. Cheers! in National Automotive Policy
